The babies were in the crib as I was strapped to a baby on my back. Ha! The whole thing started to make sense, but wasn't quite finished. For furnishing the space would take a lot of effort both in budget and time. I would also have to do my favourite shopping. My sons, my husband and I searched for hidden gems while attending estate sales in order to reduce my expenses. Our weekly routine that consisted of spending Friday through Saturday at estate sales and garage sales buying old and new items. I then spent the remainder of the week painting and sanding on the driveway. My passion for furniture restoration started with an appearance like this. I continued to work on furniture long after we furnished our house. I had a space in the market at my local location and sold pieces there. Eventually, I had too numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the space available. In my own home, I would host open houses in which more than 1000 guests could visit to purchase anything they liked on the 1st floor over the course of a weekend. This is where my business Growing Days was born. My company was flourishing however my family was also growing. It was essential to find the right balance to me. I wanted to be a mom as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days was the obvious decision. Nora my 4th child was born in 2013. This was a fantastic direction for my business, but I also needed some time off. I decided to slow down and stay in my home with my family. The time was right. It rang once more after a while. I began receiving requests from people requesting for help in home improvement and design of interiors. A majority of those calling me were people who had visited my home at one of my furniture open houses. It didn't seem long until I managed a large-scale business for home improvement. I began by taking clients at a pace that I felt comfortable with. If you had told me that my business would be the premise for a DIY Network show, I would probably have laughed. Actually, I smile a little when I remember the episode.
